It all started with the two of us...

When Aric and I met we were both out of college and enjoying the single life. When our paths first crossed we were dating other people, so there wasn't a whole lot of interest in each other. After nine months our paths crossed again, we were both  "available" and it didn't take long to realize we were meant for each other. We were married nine months later in the Chicago Illinois LDS temple. We just celebrated our nine year anniversary in June. It was the most important day of our lives, we are truly blessed and happy to be together forever.

After being married only five months, we found out we were pregnant with our first daughter, Maya. We were very surprised that we got pregnant so quickly, we weren't even trying. After Maya was born we thought we would wait awhile before we would try to have another baby. We expected it to be as easy as it was with Maya. It was not. It took us a year and a half to get pregnant with Eden. Now it has been over three and half years and we have had tests done and I have had surgery all to be told that I have unexplained infertility. This has been a very difficult thing to go through. We knew that adoption was always an option for us. We just had to wait until it felt like it was the right time. Well now is the right time and we are thrilled to have a new child to welcome into our home. We know that our family is not complete and we are very anxious to meet our new baby.

This is Aric

Aric is the oldest in his family. He has one younger brother. His family lived close to his grandparents so he had a very close relationship with them. His parents had a lake house, so he spent alot of time on the water, boating, water skiing and jet skiing. Aric grew up playing sports and still loves to play.  He has played on different softball, basketball and flag football leagues as an adult. He is an easy going guy with a fun sense of humor. He's always joking around and loves playing with our two daughters. Aric works as territory manager for a flooring company.  It allows him to work from home and make his own schedule. This is so great for our family. He takes the girls to their doctor/dentist appointments, he's able to make it to their games and recitals and it gives us alot of family time. He is a very hands on and loving dad. There is no doubt that my children know that their father loves them and that he will always be there for them. Aric loves God and lives his life in a way that reflects the testimony he has of Jesus Christ.

This is me, Jessica

I grew up in a family with five children. I am the second oldest. I have an older sister and three younger brothers. My mom is from Honduras, a small country in Central America. She came to the United States with her family when she was eight years old. I was blessed to grow up with lots of extended family around. I am very close to my grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. Growing up I played sports and enjoyed supporting my brothers and sister in their activities as well. I was a cheerleader in high school and enjoyed serving in the student council. I'm  pretty outgoing and I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, so much that I will make up a reason to have a party. Being a stay at home mom has been the biggest blessing to me and my family. Even though it isn't the most glamorous job in the world, there is nothing else I would rather do. Children grow so fast, the stages go by so quickly and I want to be there for every precious moment. I enjoy home decorating, especially painting. I sew, scrapbook and I love photography. Being organized is very important to me. My first love was teaching and I enjoyed studying early childhood in college. I have been able to teach our daughters during their pre-school years and tutor other children as well. I am the room mom in Maya's class for the third year in a row and I also volunteer in Eden's kindergarten class. I enjoy volunteering in our community at a local women's shelter and at church.  Besides my family, my relationship with God is the most important thing to me. So teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ to my children is my greatest joy.

This is Maya

Maya is eight years old. She is such a great big sister. She is always looking out for her little sister, and that is a pretty big job! Maya is so patient, more than most eight year olds. We have lots of friends and family with babies and Maya is such a good helper. She is a deep thinker and is very aware of others and their needs. She likes to read and play with her sister. She usually comes up with the activity...playing with stuffed animals or dolls, putting on a play, or playing school. Maya also enjoys playing with her friends and her cousins. She enjoys playing soccer, her favorite position is goalie. Maya also loves playing the piano. She is a peacemaker and tries very hard to make others happy. Maya is very creative and artistic. She can draw anything! One of Maya's favorite things to do is make up shows that she and Eden will perform. She comes up with the music and the costumes. It's so much fun to watch them.

This is Eden

Eden is a very fun five year old. She is so excited to be in kindergarten! She loves to dance and sing. Eden has a great sense of humor and is always making us laugh. She is a very social little girl, she has lots of friends and loves her kindergarten teachers and Sunday school teacher. Eden is great at sharing, even when she was tiny, she would always try to share her cheerios and sippy cup. She just started playing soccer and she is really good at scoring goals. Eden also recently learned how to ride her bike without training wheels, she loves how fast she can go. Eden is very artistic and loves to draw and make pictures for others. She totally admires her big sister and wants so badly to be as big as her. She loves babies, especially her new baby cousin, Max. Eden cannot wait to finally be a big sister herself.
